I started my music career in 7th grade when I started writing rhymes. Me and my homie Al Azif started the Hip Hop-group Pennybridge Kingz and we toured all over Sweden. In 2005, after 10 years, we decided to go seperate ways with our music. The Pennybridge Kingz times were crazy nice man! We had fun all the way...I´ll never forget them days. Here´s an article I found from a 05 Kingsize magazine issue. It´s in Swedish though!

Crossing the Alvik-bridge

I woke up today with the homie Ron´s pitbull "Snoop" licking my face, telling me to get up. Aight Aight Snoop, chill, I said, I´m up. After eating a quick breakfast I took him out for a morning-walk. The weather was off the chain and Hässelby was beautiful. I was a bit tired so I just let Snoop drag me around whereever he wanted to take his leaks. He kind of reminds me of my old dog Spanky who passed away in 03. His face, color and behaviour, it´s like having Spanky back.

Coming home I started writing on this new track I´m working on, answered e-mails, facebook messages and some other stuff. Then I decided to do something I´ve wanted to do a long time...jogging from Hässelby to the Alvik-bridge and check out the view from the top of it. I went out jogging and the weather was so hot I was sweating like a pig.

I brought my celly/MP3-player with me and jogged to music from Drake, Nas, Major Lazer, Black Eyed Peas, The Lating Kings, Dead Prez, DJ Khaled, and Medina. Half-ways to the bridge I was so tired in my legs that I wanted to stop and turn back to Hässelby, but I told myself I was gonna make it to the finish line. Pain is is weakness leaving the body I said to myself. After a while I reached my goal and stood there watching over the bridge, it was a beautiful sight.

Coming home I had lost 4 pounds. I did some streching, took a shower, ate a meal and got back to writing rhymes.

What more can I say?

Today was a good day! :)

Today it´s my homie Al Azif´s 27th birthday.

Time really flies man...
It seems like yesterday we started hangin back in 4th grade when we played in the same soccer team and listening to The Latin Kings album "Välkommen Till Förorten".

I don´t wanna get too emotional now, but I´m really grateful having such a wonderful friend. There were times when I was betrayed by bad friends, Al was always there to back me up.That´s real!!

I want yall to give it up for my brother today!
A great producer, a great guy, a great friend.

NO SLEEP IN 42 HOURS

I can´t believe I´m still up doing things. I been awake for 42 hours and I´m still going strong. I been grindin my ass off these last 2 days writing tracks, planning my release, answering e-mails and facebook messages, choosing the perfect takes for a track I recorded some days ago, blogging, running errands, working at the youthcenter for 8 hours. I did all that with only 1 meal, 3 cups of coffee and an energy drink. I know this ain´t the healthy way, but sometimes I have no choice but to do it in order to get things done. I gotta keep the pace up.

Tomorrow is a new day and I´ma continue my work with the music. I´m gonna take it to the tip top baybee!!! =)

As many of you already know, I´ve always been a big boxing fan. Growing up I loved watching fight tapes with great champions. I learned a lot about discipline, confidence, mental toughness and sportsmanship looking up to the great fighters.

Coming to Sweden at the age of 5 I didn´t really know what boxing was. I knew about Muhammad Ali (who later became my all time favourite role model) but I had never seen a picture of a boxer or a bout on TV. One day when I asked my big brother Kamran what boxing was, he showed me "The Ring" magazine with the great Hector "Macho" Camacho on the front page. Why is he wearing big winter gloves I asked. That´s not winter gloves, that´s boxing gloves, he said. Then we watched a fight tape. I was really amazed watching boxing. The knockouts, the tension, the toughness. It was so cool. From that day, I began to watch boxing on a daily basis.

I had many favourites growing up; Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jack Dempsey, Hector Camacho, Julio Cesar Chavez, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya...and the list goes on and on...

21 years after my first introduction to the sport of boxing I was priviledged to get in touch with Hector "Macho" Camacho and his manager Eddie Montalvo on the web. To me, It was a boyhood dream coming true. Macho is a great man and a very inspiring person.

Tonight May 14, Hector "Macho" Camacho (75-5) is making his return to the ring at the The Kissimmee Civic Center to touch gloves with Saul "Baby Duran" Duran (36-16-2).

It´s gonna be a great fight and a great show, DON`T MISS IT !!

Hey everybody!

I know yall havent heard of me since I dropped my last mixtape, and many of you have wondered what´s goin on with me and my music.

To break it down short...
Last year in september I decided to take a break from my college studies to work fulltime with my music. The homie Dogge Doggelito took me under his wings and took me on tour with him. We started the GLS-FIGHT LIFE Crew(Dogge Doggelito, El Primo, MC Ron and me) and been touring ever since. Around that time I was also introduced to "Bars N Beats" and "Ajami", two great producers I´ve been working with for the last 5 months.

I know some of yall been patiently waiting for what I´ma put out next. On the real, I got some real good material on the come up. Bars N Beats and I have been working on a EP that will drop just in time for summer.

After 7 months of sports rehabilitation my big brother Kamran Kabinejad is back in the Boxing ring. Last year in june (3 weeks before his 4th fight) he injured his left-biceps very badly during a sparring session and had to have it immobilized in a splint for 6 weeks. I remember Kam was really upset when it happened. He loves to train and had put a lot of effort in his preparations and now everything had to stop for atleast 3 months.

7 months later, Kam is now recovered and ready to rumble again. The comeback fight will be in St.Petersburg (Russia) next week and we are all excited to go there. Russia is a beautiful country and I´ve always wanted to travel there. It´s gonna be a great trip!

Yesterday was OFF THA CHAAAAAIN!!!!
The GLS-Fight Life crew (Dogge Doggelito, El Primo, MC Ron and me) hit the road once again and did 4 shows in the very same day.

We started the day by rockin´ the crowd in Alby (Stockholm) at 1 PM. At 4 PM we performed at the Husby Festival (Stockholm). That was the first time I performed in Husby and I loved it. The crowd was soooo amazing and they showed us a lot of love.

After the Husby show we headed straight to my hometown Örebro(Pennybridge City) to perform at the VOX-festival in the Varberga Park. I was really excited about this show, last time I performed there was crazy nice and I couldn´t wait to get on stage and rock the hometown-crowd again.

Upon our arrival, the place looked packed and ready to get loud. I was a bit tired from the earlier shows, but at the same time excited as hell. We went on stage at around 8 PM and the crowd was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!! The mood was at it´s best and the atmosphere was full of love. I saw a lot of friends there that I hadn´t seen in a long time and it was really nice to see them again. The show itself went great and we all had a good time. I wish I could´ve stayed longer in Örebro, but the next show in Jönköping some hours later gave us no time to stay. BIG UP ÖREBRO!!! Thanks for the support.

Our last show for the day was at a place in Jönköping, one of the most beautiful cities in Sweden, if you ask me. I had taken a power-nap in the car so I was rested and ready to rock once more. My voice was a bit tired but that didn´t bothered me at all. We did the show and it was really awesome. The energy, the mood, the beautiful crowd, everybody was having a great time and we all did well.

BIG UP to Alby, Husby, Örebro and Jönköping!!! Thank you for a wonderful day!

Last week I decided to take my long waited trip to Malmö in southern Sweden to visit some good friends that I hadnt seen in nearly 2 years. Me and the homie Ron hopped in the car and drove all the way from Stockholm down to Skåne. As we were approaching Helsingborg City I decided to get off and spend a day there visiting some friends. I had never been in Helsingborg before and I was really impressed by the city. They had a lot of cool places and the people were really nice. Next day I took the train to Lund and visited another friend there.

On the third day I stepped off the train in Malmö city and went straight to Falafel No.1 and bought myself 2 Falafel-sandwiches. That has become a tradition to me, everytime I get to Malmö, first thing I do is buy two Falafel-sandwiches. I took a walk downtown and looked in some stores then I took the bus to Lindängen to meet up with the homie Daniel (Daniel Beatz). It was really good to see Daniel again, he helped me a lot in the making of my last mixtape and I was really looking forward to hear his new beats. After eating dinner we went to the studio and started working on some new tracks.

Next day we went to "Malmöfestivalen" and saw "Stor" and "Mohammed Ali" perform. It was the first time I ever went to Malmöfestivalen and I loved it. The whole city was partying and The mood was at it´s best. The sad thing was that my train back to Stockholm was leaving at 11 PM, so I couldnt stay longer. I really wanted to stay but I had already booked my ticket back. I walked to the grand central and said farewell...

Malmö is one of my favourite cities in Sweden and everytime I go there I have a blast. The people, the culture, the food, the music, the environments... there´s so many things I love about that city.

I remember one day in 2003 when I was at my man Al Azif´s crib watching Swedish Hip Hop videos and saw this new video "Stay Awake" with a rapper named Shiny Dayz aka Iron African. That was the first time I got to know about this Stockholm-based MC and I was really impressed. The beat, the flow,the substance, I never would´ve guessed this guy was from Sweden,he sounded like he was from the US and he was really dope.

6 years later I got to meet Iron African through a mutual friend and we discussed a bit about Hip Hop. I liked his view on Hip Hop and listening to his tracks gave me alot of inspiration.

For those of you who don´t know about Iron African, he started his music career in the legendary Hip Hop group Infinite Mass in the early 90´s. He then decided to move to the US to study and play basketball in College. In 1997 he dropped the first Swedish independent Hip Hop vinyl. He appeared on the Classic Swedish Hip Hop record "Sidewalk Headliners" in 1998 and was also in the famous Natural Bond-crew. In 2004 he went on tour with U-God from The Wu Tang-Clan and Jus Allah from Jedi Mind Tricks. He produces most of his songs and is currently working on his new album "My Own Little War".

Iron African is an artist I respect very highly. He´s a veteran in the Swedish Hip Hop game and an MC with great potential. He´s also a very inspiring person, and if you listen to his music you will understand why. Here´s his new single Demons Be gone featuring the very talented Arazoo:

What´s up everybody!
Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, some projects came up last week and I didn´t get the time to sit in front of my computer.

But anyways…

Last Sunday was a day to remember. I joined the homie Dogge Doggelito in the making of his new video with the very famous Swedish actress and singer Regina Lund. It was a sunny day and the mood was at it best. The video-location was a summer meadow in Dogge´s neighbourhood Botkyrka and I had a small role in the video. I was really excited about it and I couldn´t wait to get in front of that camera and play my part. The director Binyam Berhane (also a good friend of mine) and his friend Duncan Mukada who by the way is a very talented video-director, had many great ideas for the video. We shot the video in a day and everybody did a great job.

This was a great experience for me and I was delighted to work with such a professional and talented team.

R.I.P Michael Jackson

Damn, I still can´t believe it´s true.
June 26, I was on my way home from work and was sitting in the subway car when I got a text-message from my homie Hossein, saying Michael Jackson is dead. It was so hard to believe it. Michael gone? Daaaaaamn!!! I came home and it was all over the news.

Michael was famous all over the world. The first time I got to hear about him was when I was 4 years old living in Iran. People used to talk about Michael jackson and say he was a very good artist. I had never seen a picture of him, so I didn´t really know what he looked like, all I knew was that he was very popular. But at the age of 5when me and my family moved to Sweden I got to see him on TV. He was so cool and admirable. I used to try doing the moonwalk but I never did it right, how does it do that, I used to wonder.

We all loved listening to Mike´s music. Me, my brothers, my parents, my friends, everybody loved Mike. One song that really captured me was "Heal The World". I remember the first time I saw that video, I was so happy. In the video I saw soldiers dropping their guns, and people from different countries came together making friends and making peace. Me and my family had survived the war between Iran-Iraq and I could really relate to that song and the scenes in the video.

Michael was a great man. Through his music he united people all over the world. He was all about peace and giving. He made us believe that we´re all the same, no matter color, nationality, religon and culture.

Thank you Michael for everything you did for us
Your legacy will always live in our hearts.

Wow, it´s been a while since I updated my blog. People been asking why I haven´t updated it, and to tell the truth, I´ve been busy as hell these past months and also a bit lazy to do it.
So what´s been up?

NAIM TERBUNJA - NATIONAL GOLDEN GLOVES MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION 09
As you all well know my homie Naim “The Albanian Warrior” Terbunja made it to the New York Golden Gloves final which was held at Madison Square Garden. Before the fight I sent him an exclusive track I had wrote him so he could listen to it in his preparations or use it as an entrance theme. He fought Marcus Browne and won the whole thing. Unanimous decision, 5-0. I remember receiving his text-message the day after when I woke up reading that he had won, I screamed: YEAAAAAAAAH so loud that the people 2 blocks away could almost hear me. That was the biggest achievement a Swedish amateur boxer had made in a looooong time, and I was happy as hell. Naim was now ready for the National Golden Gloves tournament in Salt Lake City. All the best fighters in US were in this tournament and you know what Naim did? He went out there and did it again…after 4 impressive wins he faced the tough Luis Arais in the final and WON… the National Golden Gloves middleweight title 2009.
Congratulations Naim, what you did was powerful and you made us all proud. Keep punchin´ bruu, your time has come, your time is NOW!

HOUMAN SEBGHATI - FRIHET
One thing that I´ve forgot to mention is that I´ve been a sidekick for the Swedish Rap-veteran Houman Sebghati who´s a brilliant poet/MC. Me and Houman did 2 shows together and one day he called me up and said that I was gon´ be in his new video FRIHET which in English means FREEDOM. That was the first time in my whole career that I was gon´ be in a real music-video and I was nervous as hell, I had never been in a real video-shooting before. What´s it like to be in a music-video? How do I act? What should I do to look good in the video? Damn, I really suck when it comes to acting. Those were my thoughts and they just kept making me nervous. The day of video-shoot I went there and told myself to relax and just do exactly what the director tells me to do. We shot the video all day, and it was real fun. We laughed many times during the shootings and everybody had a blast.

May 15 on a Friday afternoon I was the MC of the week on the famous Swedish radio-show SR Metropol “EN KÄRLEKSATTACK PÅ SVENSK HIPHOP!” hosted by the one and only Ametist. For those of you who don´t know, every week Ametist gives an unknown MC a chance to spit a verse and show the Swedish Hip Hop-listeners if he/she got game when it comes to Emceeing. I went there with my homie Al Azif and just did what I came to do…spittin a verse and speak my mind. I did good and it was fun to be on radio again.

COMING TO AMERICA
Travelling is one of my biggest passions in life. Last time I took a dream-trip was in January 08 when me and homies travelled to Thailand. I was really dying to travel again. Every since I moved to Stockholm last year I had saved money for a 09 summer-trip. So I called up the homie Al Azif and told him about it and we were actually on the same page. Let´s take a trip to a new and exciting country where we can discover new places, people and find new inspiration. After 2 days we decided we should go to New York. Both of us had always wanted to go to The Big Apple and now it was time to do it. We booked flight-tickets and accommodation. The date was june 10.

PERFORMING WITH THE LEGENDARY DOGGE DOGGELITO
June 4, I was sitting in the library at the university finishing an essay when my cellphone rang. I answered and it was the legendary Swedish rapper Dogge Doggelito who asked me if I wanted to be his sidekick on a show the same day. Hell yeah, I said. He picked me up and we drove to this Club in Nyköping and rocked the whole place.

SUMMERTIME
June 5 my college semester ended for spring and I finally finally finally got more time to work with my music. I was free for the summer and it felt so gooooooooood. First thing I did was write a verse for the homie Kaanquest´s remix version of his track The Anthem. Then I went back to my hometown Pennybridge (Örebro) to visit my family. I hadn´t seen my parents, my brothers and their families in a long time and it was so nice to see them again. We had a family reunion Barbequing and having a good time, I felt soooo free.

I had a long day today...

went to school at 08:30 AM and had this anatomy lecture. It was interesting as hell, but the bad sleep from last night had me a bit sleepy at the end of the lecture.
After the anatomy lecture I went to my next course, "the teacher-leadership" class, it was interesting too.

On my way to work at 5:30 PM I met my man ADL on the subway. I hadn´t seen him since the K-1 Rumble of the kings tournament at Hovet last year and it was good to see him again. We had a short conversation til we reached his stop.

For those of you who don´t know about ADL, he´s one of the best MC´s in the history of Swedish Hip Hop, also One of the illest freestyle MC´s i´ve ever heard on the mic.

On april 16 Naim will fight Marcus Browne for the middleweight gold in Madison Square Garden... ye you heard me right MADISON SQUARE GAAAARDEN baby!!!

I will keep my fingers crossed for my friend and since he´s a helluva fighter, I know he´ll do great fight!

I know yall probabally heard me say this before, but I can´t hold myself from saying it over and over again: I´m proud of my family, I´m proud i´m proud and I´m proud of being born and raised in a circle so strong and so beautiful. From our beloved grandmother (R.I.P) who started out illiterate and homeless but still managed to raise 5 kids by herself to our struggle for survival in an 8 year long and bloody war of 1 million casualties. From having our houses bombed by aircrafts to days of not having any money nor food to eat. From coming to another country to start building up our lives from scratch to reaching success in a way we can inspire other people to be strong...Oh yes, we´ve come a long way, we´ve taken many losses, but still we´re standing, and still we keep overcoming the obstacles life throws at us.
This is the true meaning of Fight Life!

On mars 19 my big brother Kamran won a very prestigous prize, The Vattenfall energy-spreading prize. The prize of 30 000 swedish crowns was given to him for his positive work with youths in his boxing gym which is one of the most popular gyms in the City of Örebro (Pennybridge). I just wanted to write this and congratulate my brother for being such a great person. Kamran´s story is very unique and I think if they made a movie about his life, it would be a great movie to watch, he´s been through alot in his life.

Ye yall!
It´s been a while since I updated my blog. My studies and my job has been my top priorities for the last five weeks and I aint had the time to logg in here and write... But I´ma start writing here again and give yall the latest about the things happening in my world.

So what´s been up lately?

* I been studying my ass off everyday passing exams in swimming, Ice-skating, dancing etc etc.

* I been working part-time at the Youth center 2-3 days a week

* I been training 5 days a week (Boxing, running, lifting weights, gymnastics)

* I been writing rhymes

Plus a whole lot of other things that I don´t have the time to write about

Anyways...enough about me

Today when I woke up I had recieved a text message on my celly from my homie Naim Terbunja who´s currently in New York fighting in The New York Golden Gloves-tournament. He told me he had made it to the semi-finals, and I was happy as hell. I think Naim´s got a great chance to win the tournament, he´s a helluva fighter and also hungry for success.

June 27 1959 Ingemar "Ingo" Johansson became the heavyweight champion of the world in Boxing by knocking out the great Floyd Patterson at Yankee Stadium.

Ingo will always be remembered as a great champion.

Henok Alem

After finishing work today I stopped at Slussen and went to see my homie Henok Alem who´s a trainer in Linnea Boxing Club. We sat in his office and talked Boxing and sports. It was fun though, I hadn´t seen Henok in a long time and talking to him was very inspiring. Henok have always been like a big brother to me. When I was 12-13, he always used to look after me when he saw me out with my friends. - Stay out of trouble, he would say, don´t hang around with bad friends and never miss your curfews.

Back in his prime, Henok was a helluva fighter. He was a flyweight with the punch of a lightweight. He was the best flyweight boxer in Sweden with many titles under his belt. Aside from that, he was, and still is, a very intellectual and experienced person.

If you ever consider to train boxing, and you happen to be in Stockholm, don´t hesitate to train with him. He´ll give your body that perfect exercise.

When it comes to live-performances...
one artist that have always captured me is the
Jamaican reggae and dancehall legend Capleton.

I been to 2 Capleton shows so far. I saw him perform at Uppsala Reggae Festival 07 and in Norrköping 08, and I gotta tell ya...never have I ever seen an artist rock a crowd the way Capleton do. The positive vibes and energy, the excitement, the love, the message, the realness, the upliftment, the inspiration...it´s all there when you go see a Capleton show.

Wow, time is really moving fast! It seems like yesterday I went out with my fellaz celebrating the new millenium, and now it´s 2009...Wow!

That makes me think of only one thing...
Time is unstoppable!

Before I get into 2009, I´d like to have a quick look at last years highlights. Good things that happened around me in 08:

* My homies Naim Terbunja and Kennedy Katende made it to the Olympic Games in Beijing (Boxing)

* I move to Stockholm and begin my studies @ The University of Stockholm

* I drop my first mixtape as a solo-artist "The Sweet Scientist Mixtape"

* I turn 25

08 was a mixture of both good and bad days, but that´s nothing unusual, that´s just life. On the new years countdown I had a good feeling about the upcoming year. Now let´s just hope that my feeling was right :P

Oh what a wonderful day...december 10 2008!
I was having my day off from work and it was my 25th birthday.

After eating breakfast I took the Subway to to the Stockholm University library to check my mails. As you all well know I just moved to another apartment and I ain´t had no internet there for the last 3 weeks, that´s why this blog´s been on ice and that´s why I haven´t been quick responding the mails yall been sending me.

But anyways...
I logged in on facebook, myspace and nattstad and I was stunned. Never ever have I had so many people congratulating me on my birthday. Everybody was sending out their regards to me. And my cellphone kept vibrating, recieving messages from people sending me love. I was really touched and humbled by the people´s kind words...at that moment, I got this wonderful feeling of love and I wished I could give the whole world to each one of my friends. Wow, I still don´t know what to say...Thank you guys. You are all in my heart and I will remember this day for a long long time, naaa, I will remember this day forever, forever forever ever forever ever.

On my way out from the library I bumped into a journalist from the nationwide newspaper "Dagens Nyheter" who asked me if he could make a quick interview with me about the well known swedish politician Mona Sahlin. I did the interview, then I took the Subway to Vällingby Centrum to buy some food.

In Vällingby Centrum I looked around in different stores, looking at clothes I liked but couldn´t afford buying. As I kept strolling and looking in different stores I stopped by the bookstore to see if they had Barack Obama´s book "The Audacity of Hope" when I saw one of my favourite authors Jan Guillou sitting there signing his new book. I´m not gonna lie but I was a bit star-struck when I saw him in person. Wow, Jan Guillou in the flesh, I thought to myself. I bought his new book and the he signed it: To Kaveh, with regards, Jan Guillou, Dec 10 2008.

Waiting for the Subway to Hässelby I got a call from my homeboy Al Azif who congratulated me and told me to come over in Kista so we could met up with the other homies Kian and Rozze and go celebrate. So I met up with the fellaz and we went to this nice restaurant in Östermalmstorg where we spent the rest of the evening. We ate, drank sodas, joked and laughed our butts off remeniscing on our high school days. The mood was all that and the fear of turning 25 didn´t bothered me no more, I was a grown man and I loved it.

After that we were all exhausted...we said goodbye at the Subway station and everybody went back home, and that was that.

I came back home and just threw myself in my bed looking at the roof, thinking about the good times and how much I love this life.

Thank you guys, for a wonderful evening. I had a blast. Thank you everybody for all the love you sent me, yall made my december 10 2008 a precious memory.

Turning 25

What´s good folks?

December 10...
Today I turned 25!

Waking up at 9 AM I got out of bed and did 30 push-up´s to start the day. After washing my face in the bathroom I checked my cell phone to see if I had any missed calls or messages. I saw a a whole bunch of messages from my family and friends congratulating me on my 25th birthday. I was happy as hell, but an hour later I got this strange feeling of getting old. I started analyzing my whole life from then to now. It was fun though... I found I was a guy who had seen and experienced alot of things coming up(both good and bad). The hardships,the happiness the tragedies, the triumphs, the struggles, the joy, the excitement, the learning, the dreams, the people and many other things.

After all the thinking I came to the conclusion that I really can´t complain about the way my life has turned out. I may not be a rich guy, I may not be famous, but I got a good family and good friends who really care about me, I´m in college and I´m blessed with the art of writing rap-songs and speaking my mind, I got goals that motivates me...that to me means more than all the material riches in the world. It´s hard to tell what will happen in the future...but the way things are going now, I feel like my life is headed in the right direction.

To all the 25:ers out there...Don´t look at turning 25 as a sad thing, life is a wonderful thing and with every day passing you get to experience new and exciting things...life is what you make it, so go out and make it the best you can!

Don´t worry...about a thing...´cause every little thing...is gonna be alright...

K Salaam&Beatnick - Whose World Is This?

Earlier this year I was googling on my first name Kaveh to see what information that was available about it, when I saw this Hip Hop article where the name was mentioned. On a closer look I found out the article was about a producer duo from the US who went by the name of K Salaam&Beatnick. Reading the article had me curious about their music. I liked their view on Hip Hop and their message. I found K Salaam´s myspace page and listened to some of the tracks they had made with Sizzla Kalonji, Mos Def, Buju Banton and Trey Songz. I fell in love with their music right off the bat. The beats, the concept of the songs, the lyrics, the collaborations...it was off the chain.

A couple of months ago they dropped their album "Whose World Is This" where they give a positive message to the world. The album features original songs from the Hip Hop stars : Young Buck, Trey Songz, Talib Kweli, Dead Prez, Outlawz, Papoose, Saigon, Rakaa from Dilated Peoples, & Kardinal Offishall and the Reggae legends Buju Banton, Sizzla, Capleton, Anthony B, Luciano, Richie Spice and more.. also The HBO Def Poets Suheir Hammad and Black Ice.

For those of you who don´t know about K Salaam&Beatnick... buy the album, I promise, you won´t regret it.

I wrote these 16 bars last year when I was at my man BC´s crib in Malmo. I was listening to some of his beats when he dropped this verse about all the good things that could happen in a good day. I fell in love with the concept of his verse so I grabbed a pen and pad quick and wrote my version of that. We never got to record that track, but we called it "That Feeling". Today I had that feeling...

and it goes somethin like this...

after having a bad season with life´s difficult times/
feeling alive/
go to work you wear a smile/
loving your job, loving yourself, feeling just fine/
you know that feeling when you lost two pounds/

feeling of victory after you´ve won a game/
and the next day your picture is on the front-page/

I started working on "The Sweet Scientist Mixtape" one and a half years ago, after coming back from a 9 months long depression. I apologize to my people and fans for the delays, though this mixtape was supposed to be out a year ago. But if you give me a minute or two I will break it down for yall and explain why...

The reason it took so long for me to drop "The Sweet Scientist Mixtape" was the difficulties I had maintaining my college studies alongside my 3 jobs. On top of that, I had no studio to record in and every artist and producer I contacted turned me down and said they had no time to work with me or let me record in their studio. I had 30 songs but no studio and sometimes the pressure from my studies and my jobs was so much that I lost all my energy and my passion for living. I just wanted to give up the music. But deep inside I couldn´t give it up...I had come too far to quit and seperating me from music was not an option.

I would like to write a list to show my appreciation, give my best regards and wishes to some people that have helped me through in this project.

First off...I would like to thank my grandmother for the inspiration and motivation. You always supported me in whatever I decided to go for, whether it was boxing, music or studies. I´m gonna tell the whole world about you grandma, ´cause I want the whole world to know what a great woman you were. An illiterate homeless single woman with 5 kids and no relatives, still you managed to put roof over your kid´s heads, feed them, put clothes on them and put them in school. You never stole anything from anyone and you never talked bad about anyone. Words can´t express how much you meant to me grandma. You´re the reason the whole family is here today, you´re the real FIGHT LIFE (R.I.P).

My family for always being there for me. Mom, Dad, my big brothers Kamran and Keyvan. Without you there could be no me. I love yall !!

My man Al Azif for for being there for me as a true friend and guiding me through in the parts of music in which I wasn´t so familiar with. We both gonna make it to the top of our careers G, sky´s the limit.

I was checkin out some of my old book of rhymes the other day when I found this poem I had written last year called "Down Here". I remember writing that poem, I was in amidst of a tough season with my college studies, financial issues, my music career that just kept going bad, my three jobs that took all my energy, quarrels in my family and many other worries that just kept punching me when I was down. I wrote it to express my feelings, but also the feelings of the poor people across the planet.

Kodie - The Sweet Scientist Mixtape

The same fist that can knock out a man holds a pen that writes a poem, now that´s poetic justice.” These are the words of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, and these words can be said to define the image of Kodie, an up-and-coming MC from Sweden, who releases his new mixtape “The Sweet Scientist” 24th of October 2008. On The Sweet Scientist Mixtape Kodie tells us about the everyday struggle and the harsh realities of the working class people across the world, but also about the things that gives us hope and joy. Materialism is not nearly an inspiration for Kodie, instead his source of inspiration comes from human beings and the life we live. One of Kodie´s main goals with his music is to reach the masses with his Fight Life-ideology. Fight Life is an attitude that emerged in him from his 11 year long successful boxing career. Fight Life, according to Kodie, is about conquering your fears, the courage to face adversities in life, to defeat them and to live as one chooses. Another aspect about Kodie´s music is his ability to make songs that creates a dialogue. By having discussions, we can approach issues of all kinds and come up with good solutions, he says. Although he has released only a dozen songs since the conclusion of his former group “Pennybridge Kingz”, Kodie has been given credit by many of today’s biggest Swedish Rap-artists. Det sista ordet sa Kamran med en sådan inlevelse och beslutsamhet att kraften i hans själ, i samma sekund, överfördes till mitt snabbt slående hjärta. Jag nickade instämmande av respekt för min sekond, för han visste alltid vad han pratade om. Mitt tandskydd sköljdes i en hink av min andra tränare Ismail, och stoppades tillbaka i min mun som vid det här laget hade två spruckna läppar. I den andra hörnan stod min motståndare Micke Olsson, en hård och offensiv pugilist från Gävle.

Nu var jag där igen. Pausen inför sista ronden i en jämn och tät fajt där ens vilja och tapperhet skulle komma att sättas på prov. Tröttheten var stor och smärtsam, men jag trängde bort den, ty smärta var nåt man var van att ta efter 10 års träning. Markbackens lokal var smockat och många kämpade utanför i hopp om att släppas in för att bevittna denna kamp. Alla hade kommit för att se boxning på nära håll.

Nu började mina inre röster eka i huvudet.
- Åh, jag är så trött. Killen är tuff.
Han har tagit alla mina hårda högerslag och vägrar backa.
Kolla in publiken. Aldrig har jag boxats inför en så entusiastisk publik på hemmaplan.
Jag får inte göra dem besvikna. De tror på mig. Jag måste representera min stad.
Jag måste ta det här, jag får inte förlora…inte idag.

Jag steg upp ur pallen som jag suttit på och fick syn på en liten pojke som stod strax utanför ringen med sin mamma. För bara en sekund kom jag att tänka på min mamma och hur mycket jag älskade henne. Den lilla pojken såg ut att vara nervös. Jag tog upp min näve i vinnaranda och gav han ett blink för att visa att allt var OK, han log.

Gongongen ljöd och jag gick in i elden. Nu var det ge och ta som gällde, in och ut, runt i cirklar, kors och tvärs. Publiken skanderande mitt namn så högt att lokalen nästan skakade. Vi bombarderade varandra med alla möjliga slag. Jag gjorde som Kamran sagt och slog kroppslag så gott jag kunde. Trots tröttheten hade jag i åtanke att inte göra dumdristiga attacker för det kunde kosta mig onödiga träffar. Fotarbetet skapade utrymme för mina slagserier, men det var tufft. Han var uthållig och kämpade bra trots trycket från min hemmapublik. Han prickade med en kontring som fick mig att se så många stjärnor att jag för en sekund trodde jag befann mig i vintergatan uppe i galaxen. Men jag återhämtade mig snabbt och fajtades in i det sista.

När matchens avslutande ”ding-ding” hördes i mina öron spreds en otrolig eufori i kroppen och jag kände att jag vunnit matchen. Mina händer for upp i luften och applåderna pågick medan jag och min motståndare kramades och tackade varandra för den goda fajten. Vi gick tillbaka till våra hörnor för att ta av oss huvudskydd och handskar. Efter att ha tackat varandras sekonder ställde vi oss på varsin sida av ringdomaren för att invänta domslutet. Det var spänt och tystnaden i lokalen var sådan att man skulle kunna höra en nål falla till golvet. Svetten rann nedför min panna, jag höll andan, men utan oro.
